Two young men who reportedly stopped an Isis suicide bomber entering a mosque in Saudi Arabia are being hailed as heroes after being killed when he blew himself up.

The friends, named as Mohammed Hassan Ali bin Isa and Abdul-Jalil al-Arbash, died after reportedly turning the attacker away from the Imam Hussein mosque in Dammam yesterday. Eyewitnesses claim the man was disguised as a woman and tried to enter through a closed female entrance before going to the main gate, where the pair were manning a civilian checkpoint.

A family of five and 6 other individuals were among those who were killed in a gun battle between Boko Haram members and Nigerian troops in Dala, Borno state yesterday May 29th.

According to reports, the terrorist, who came in their numbers, had tried to invade Maiduguri, the Borno state capital but met a strong resistance from the troops stationed in the area. Many residents were seriously injured as they tried running to safety. The troops repelled the attack.

A man is facing up to 2 years in prison after calling the Bordeaux airport in France to allege a bomb threat just because he didn't want his girlfriend to miss her flight. The 33-year-old man was arrested by French police after calling Bordeaux-Mérignac airport saying, 'there is a bomb, there is a bomb' at 7.30am local time on Thursday.

It is believed he made the threat so as to delay flights because his girlfriend was stuck in traffic en-route in southwestern France.

Sources say things like this are common in Delta state and Edo state. Just look, laugh and move on. Lol!

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has barred men of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, the Nigerian Police Force, SSS and other security agencies from arresting and extraditing embattled Senator-elect Buruji Kashamu to the US over alleged drug related offences.

While presiding over a case brought before him by the legal team of Senator Kashamu this morning, Justice Okon Abang described as illegal, the attempted arrest and extradition of Kashamu in relation to drug-trafficking allegations which he had been previously exonerated by two British courts. Justice Abang ordered the NDLEA, Attorney General of the Federation, National Adviser to President on Security and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps to pay Buruji Kashamu N20,000.

The European Commission is due to unveil its latest version of a controversial plan to force EU member states to more evenly absorb the wave of migrants reaching Europe via the Mediterranean.
UN chief Ban Ki-moon was also due in Brussels on Wednesday after urging Europe to do more to help migrants and after the EU has sought UN Security Council approval to launch a naval operation against migrant smugglers.
The commission, the executive of the 28-nation EU, will ask member states to share the burden of admitting tens of thousands of asylum seekers who land in Italy, Greece and Malta, the AFP news agency reported.
"The proposal is not perfect, but it amounts to an enormous step forward, because it introduces the principle of solidarity," EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini said on Tuesday.
"We will have to build a consensus" around the relocation proposal for asylum seekers "so that interior ministers can approve it" by a simple majority when they meet June 16 in Luxembourg, she added.

Suspicion has hung about Fifa for years, and although Mr Blatter is not thought to be implicated in Wednesday's arrests, one has to wonder - why is he so determined to carry on in the top job?
When the 79-year-old walks out into Zurich's vast Hallenstadion on Friday for Fifa's presidential election, he is unlikely to fear any opposition. There are just 209 electors, many of them representing small footballing nations, and Mr Blatter has been cultivating them for years.
After the withdrawal of Luis Figo and Michael van Praag, there is only one man standing against Mr Blatter, Jordan's Prince Ali Bin al-Hussein, and Mr Hussein will almost certainly not command enough votes to pose any kind of threat.

A one-storey building which served as offices for pastors belonging to Christ Chosen Church of God collapsed in Edo state today. Rescue operation is currently ongoing at the site. Three people are said to have been rescued alive from the collapsed building while two bodies are still trapped under the rubble.

A 40 year old Asian mother, dressed in red, fell from the 4th-floor apartment of a residential building in Val-de-Marne southeast of Paris yesterday Monday May 25th.

When investigators entered the flat the woman had fallen from, they found a baby and a child aged 5 or 6 years, who had been stabbed to death. A knife was left next to one of the tiny victims' bodies.

A 26 year old Nigerian man, Ekwegbalu Ugochukwu Udok, has been sentenced to 5 years in jail by a Municipal court in Cambodia for beating and raping a Norwegian tourist, 27 year old Nodia Ebert, in December 2014. According to the presiding judge, on the day of the incident, the young lady had just stepped out of a night club when she met Udok who pretended to be a taxi driver and asked that she take a ride with him.

“Udok pretended to be a taxi driver, and asked her to take a ride from him. He said that he would bring her to the Okay Boutique Hotel, but instead, he brought her to his rental house. After arriving at his room, he raped her.” the presiding judge, Im Vanak said while presiding over the case.
